As part of the structural evaluation of the Focke-Wulf FW 44J Stieglitz, a series of bending strength tests were carried out on Oregon Pine (Douglas Fir) in accordance with DIN 52186. The objective was to determine the load-bearing capacity of the wood samples under realistic stress conditions. In four main tests and two additional calibration tests, wooden specimens (20 x 20 mm, 320 mm in length, with a support span of 280 mm) were loaded to failure using a lever-arm test stand.

The tests were performed under controlled conditions (temperature approx. 17–19 °C, humidity approx. 41–44%). All results were thoroughly documented, analyzed, and compiled into detailed workshop reports to ensure full traceability for inspection authorities.
