SHOCK STRUT
Technical Landing Gear Strut for Ultralight and Experimental Aircraft
Our landing gear strut is specifically designed for use in ultralight and experimental aircraft. The spring is interchangeable and can be individually adjusted depending on weight class and desired damping behavior (soft or firm). This makes the system suitable for a wide range of aircraft types.
The main structure is made from high-strength aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum, while the spring itself is manufactured from tempered C45 steel. Additional aluminum components are produced from materials with a minimum strength of 350 N/mm².
To protect against dirt, dust, and foreign objects, the spring is integrated inside the aluminum housing. The system operates dry – intentionally designed without lubricants to reduce maintenance and prevent dirt accumulation. The result is a robust, lightweight, and adaptable landing gear system – developed from real-world experience, for safe and comfortable flight operations.

Safe Landings with Modern Engineering – Landing Gear Upgrade for the Pietenpol
The original rigid landing gear of the 1929 Pietenpol Air Camper is a known weak point and a frequent cause of accidents, especially during hard landings or on uneven airstrips. FAA and NTSB reports show that many Pietenpol incidents are directly linked to gear failures. Our newly developed shock-absorbing strut replaces the
outdated design with a modern, spring-damped system.
Made from high-strength aerospace aluminum and tempered spring steel, it's adjustable for different weight classes and operates dry for minimal maintenance.
The result: greater comfort, significantly improved safety – all without compromising the aircraft’s original character.
